1. Cover your scalp with plastic wrap (Saran Wrap or any similar plastic wrap).

2. Apply 3 layers of tape over the plastic wrap to keep the form in place.

3. Draw a line on the plastic wrap that goes along your hairline.

4. Indicate your hair pattern and part using a marker.

5. With your marker put an "F" for Front, "B" for Back, "L" for Left, and "R" for Right.

6. Apply a final layer of tape.

7. With scissors, trim off the excess wrap along your hairline.

Your Natural Hair Sample

1. Cut a small sample swatch of your natural hair about 1" long (3cm).  After cutting the hair sample/s, tape the swatch together like a small ponytail.  If you need to match specific areas of your hair, use the chart below for your hair samples.  Cut and label your samples as follows:

Measurements

If you are not going to make a template at all then follow the detailed instructions below:

1. Measure from left ear to right ear and wright down the inches. (note: you will probably want to stay at least one inch or more above each ear).
2. Then do the measurements from where ever you would like the hair piece to start at in the front and end in the back. (note: it is not recommended to measure all the way to the nape hair, this is because this hair is usually finer and can pull from the hair piece).
3. Last of all you must have circumference measurements. This is done so by measuring behind each ear, across the top where the natural hairline is and down below the occipital bone in back where the neck line is.
